Max loves it here. He gets SO much attention from the Filipinos. Constant attention. Almost to the point where I have to tell people and their children to back away from him. They stare, they point, they come up to look at the beautiful baby with the big blue eyes and light hair. Some even touch him. He LOVES it - I on the other hand am a bit more cautious.
Callie on the other hand is at a bit of a loss. No park to play in, it's hot, and she can't talk to other dogs that we meet outside. It's just not done here. Too many diseases, too many cases of rabies. You can never be too careful. Walking her is a nightmare. The streets are so stroller unfriendly so with a dog in hand AND with a stroller it is almost impossible. The streets are crooked and cracked, the curbs are amazingly high and the cars do not obey the traffic lights or the pedestrian crossing signs. At times there are cross walk people to stop traffic and help you across. They come in handy.....did I also mention that they carry what appear to be handguns and a crazy big rifle or some sort of machine gun like weapon?? There are armed guards at every corner where we are and every time that you drive up to the hotel they have bomb sniffing dogs and mirrors to look under your car. A lot different than the street obeying, rule abiding, leave your car unlocked b/c no one steals anything here Switzerland.
Did I mention that I can buy Diet Root Beer here and watch all the American TV shows a girl could hope for. I can finally watch Law and Order SVU and CSI Miami again. Diet Root Beer, Stabler and Delco - it doesn't get any better that that! :)
